Born and raised in Brazil of an American mother and Austrian father, David began painting in his early teens. He first studied painting with a host of private tutors and later at the Center for Visual Arts of Rio Janeiro. He currently spends time between his house and studio in Tampa Florida, and whenever possible, the coastal village of Buzios, near Rio.
David’s art has been sold and collected internationally in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Brazil.
His style incorporates warm colors and alternating palette knife with brush work, and as a result, his works tend to feature a textural look. David works with waterbased paints only, but also add collage and mixed media components to many of his artworks.
Mostly a painter of abstract landscapes, David is now once again painting figurative. These will be done against a background that will be either an abstraction, or an actual landscape, depending on the perception of the viewer.
